Agency Power BMW B58 Ram Air Intake (M140i, M240i, 340i & 440i)
One of the easiest ways to gain horsepower and improve your throttle response on the BMW M140i & M240i B58, turbocharged engine, is with an air intake kit. Agency Power’s new short ram air intake kit for the M140i & M240i is a great first modification to do. The intake kit is a complete replacement for the OEM air box. The kit includes a new aluminium intake tube with CNC machined MAP sensor mount, precision cut heat shield with mounting tabs, and a new high flow air filter.
The MAP sensor mount has been CNC machined out of 6061 aluminium to retain the factory fitment for proper readings. It is then TIG welded to the aluminium intake tube for proper placement. The main part of the intake is the high flow air filter. It features an inlet on the end cap to allow for an even larger volume of air to come through than a standard cone filter. The design improves air filtration while increasing air flow. The air filter is finished off with the Agency Power text and AP logo on the rubber end cap.
The heat shield is water jetted from aluminium with rubber trim to provide a secure fit and seal when the hood closes. It is designed to prevent direct hot air from the engine being sucked into the filter. Each heat shield features the AP logo neatly cut out from the shield panel for added style. All parts are finished in a matte black powder coat for an OEM look while the cylindrical air filter features a blue element matching to the BMW Roundel logo.
With the new air filter, your turbocharger can breathe better than the factory intake allows. This is noticeable as you step on the accelerator and hear the turbo work (sucking air noise). Release the throttle and the factory blow off valve noise (whoosh) is more audible and keeps you entertained through the gears!
1. remove air box cover and filter.
2. loosen hose clamps to air box.
3. Remove air box (held in place with tabs and rubber grommets so pull gently)
4 install new heat shield, and tighten on with clamps
5. connect the new hard pipe to the intake system and set pipe up accordingly.
6. Tighten everything down before installing the air filter.

AP intake OMG!
My 2nd mod on the M140i along with jb+, great combo. This filter sounds amazing! Great turbo noise and that BOV wow! It’s just addictive! Also improved throttle response, A must have mod.
Ap 340i intake
Excellent quality, amazing sound and simple to fit. Make sure you put the heat Sheid on first, pipework then lastly the airfilter. You will also need a small m6 nut & bolt to fix the top bracket to the car. The bottom bracket uses the excisting fixing point. Very happy ***** star
Epic sound upgrade
The AP intake finally gives the B58 the sound it deserves, turbo spool for days and wastegate noise. You can actually hear the turbo breathing now. Fitment was a bit tricky as there were no instructions supplied and one of the hose clamps was a bit too tight to fit and the rubber strip around the heat shield should really be glued on from factory. No fitment issues though in the 340i engine bay and everything went in smoothly including the MAF sensor and the massive cone filter. Definitely recommended.
Great sound great performance
Bought this intake a couple of weeks ago, wanted something to give a little more noise and performance which this kit definitely doesn’t disappoint. Gives a great flutter on low rpm and a nice BOV noise at mid rev gear change. Easy system to fit (straight swap) and no heat soak from the engine due to the great heat shield.
