The Alpha One Lightwave amplifier can effortlessly receive the optic digital input signal. Why is it important? Well, there are many significant benefits to having an integrated optical transceiver.

Thanks to this built-in input, you retain full functionality of your iDrive fader, bass balance, treble, and multi-band equalizer control – our amp talks to your head unit and does everything the iDrive system tells it to. Even things like phone calls, navigation prompts, or park distance control sounds will continue to be at your disposal, just like from the factory.

Additionally, the audio signal arrives at the Lightwave’s powerful 533MHz Blackfin Digital Signal Processor in its original form without any conversions along the way. This gives the DSP as clean of an input signal as possible, translating into an outstanding sound quality.

Tailored to Your Taste, like All Great Things Should Be

With such a potent DSP as the brain of the operations, Lightwave has everything that’s required for channel mapping, endless amounts of parametric EQ, high/low/band-pass filters, time alignment, gain control, and much more. Needless to say, as always at Alpha One we will set all of those for you and ship your amplifier pre-tuned to sound great right from the get-go.

The Lightwave Amplifier has 4 tuning file banks. What’s even more exciting is that you will be able to switch between 2 of them directly through your iDrive system. All you need to do is toggle the Surround/Logic 7 function on or off to switch things up.

Packaged into a surprisingly small unit, all of the above results in excellent sound quality, even with the factory OEM BMW speakers. And you get a whole kit for plug-an/bd-play implementation.
