The complete Ferrari F50 CAPRISTO high performance system designed as a balanced increase between power, drive ability and sound quality, without forgetting of course a substantial loss of weight. All of this is delivered while maintaining the CAPRISTO best of both worlds philosophy, which provides the capability to produce an aggressive exhaust note under acceleration and a more subdued sound for city driving.
This system was designed to maximize performance and sound. With de-catalyzed, pipe length ordered to firing-order, Y-collector, equal-length manifolds, the Capristo F50 is the ultimate, technically modelled and designed manifold for the iconic platform. The F50s engine above 4500 rpm really does not like backpressure, thus using the valves the gasses will flow through a direct-exit unsilenced channel with a few key differences:
- The gasses are blended in an X-pipe before exit, increasing the scavenging effect and it gives the car a smoother, more high-pitched sound. Added to the new manifolds, this car will sound sensational and will address some of the criticism levelled at the toneless, extreme low/mid rpm noise of the competitions straight through, the underwhelming sound of the competitions mufflers, and frankly lackluster sound of the OEM exhaust.
- A small amount of gasses even in the valve open position will travel through the silenced channel similar to OEM exhausts. The silencer is optimized such that its not just a means of dampening sound at low rpm, but also to add to the F1 howl at high rpm when its barely in use.
- A note on that X configuration shown in the direct exit channel: That X in the valve open channel creates more torque in mid and high rpm by essentially by creating a vacuum for the gases behind.
Manifolds: 45mm
Y-collector manifolds: 2x 50mm
Exhaust and X-pipe channel: 60,3mm
Silencer bypass: 50mm
CAPRISTO Exhaust systems are engineered and manufactured utilizing advanced 3D Laser-Scanning, CAD Design, Digital prototyping, and CNC-bending/milling at our factory in Germany. Each system is made of high-grade T309 (1.4828) Stainless Steel and hand polished to a mirror finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its sonic resonance properties, low weight, and durability which are close to the properties of Inconel (used in F1).
PERFORMANCE HEADERS:
The manifolds employ a 6-3-1 design and significantly changed pipe routing compared with the stock manifolds to maximize exhaust flow.
CAPRISTO Heat Shields/Blankets:
The headers and Exhaust X-Pipe come standard with the innovative CAPRISTO Heat Shield. The Heat Shields are made from a very high-heat resistant material, initially developed and used by NASA. This helps to reduce radiant heat from the exhaust headers and sports catalysts. The shields are heat resistant for temperatures of up to 1300 degrees Celsuis.
Reduced heat or temperatures in the engine compartment improves performance. Cooler air boxes result in a cooler air temperature for the engine to breath-inÂ. In turn, the denser air makes more horsepower.
As the outside of the glaring hot exhaust is shielded from its surroundings, the shields also reduce the possibility of fire which sometimes arises from liquids/oil getting in contact with the exhaust system.
