The RM Series is comprised of a damper cartridge secured within a threaded outer body. This specific design requires a lubricating grease to be applied during the assembly process between the two damper and threaded body to avoid metal-to-metal contact. In order to keep the two components from touching each other and generating noise transmission you will need to periodically clean out the old grease and apply new grease.
This is a simple process that can be done with just a few common tools. It does not require you to open the internals of the dampers themselves and therefore you do not need to have the dampers re-pressurized after carrying out this procedure. Please contact us on info@mlperformance.co.uk for more information and a step-by-step guide on how to complete this maintenance.
As a result of this required maintenance, we do not recommend the RM Series for road use over the BR Series or ER Series.

do88 proudly presents the Intake System for BMW M140i M240i 340i 440i F3X, engineered for high power outputs!
Filtration, airflow and heat are the key considerations when designing a new intake system for a turbocharged engine.
Our do88 intake system has been developed to provide the turbo with good filtration, improved airflow path while also maintaining low inlet temperatures. One design challenge for this B58 Intake system is the location, it is just next to the exhaust manifold which rapidly heat soaks this position in the engine bay.
High air intake temperatures are terrible for the engine performance as the turbo would have to build boost with hot, less dense air. This is why a fully sealed intake system is the only way to go to ensure IAT's are kept to a minimum. To eliminate hot air from being drawn into the air filter we designed a heat shield and lid that together with rubber sealings makes our system feed the engine with nice cold air. Our intake system uses the OE fresh air inlet duct that feeds the air filter with fresh air.
As replacement to the OE plastic intake pipe, we designed a large 85mm (3,3";) mandrel bent aluminum pipe which expands to 93mm (3,7";) towards to the turbo inlet elbow. We didn´t take any shortcuts when we designed the inlet pipe, we sourced the unusual size of 85mm to get the correct inner diameter for the MAF-sensor. Many competitors sell kits with 89mm (3,5";) inlet pipes which is easy to source. But the danger with 89mm pipe is that the MAF-reading will be wrong and therefor causing the fuel mixture to be lean. It is not uncommon to get CEL (Check Engine Light) with such setup. Fitted to our intake pipe is a large custom-designed air filter. The filter has a densely knitted cotton gauze for superior filtration. The filter is of course washable and reusable for optimum performance and long service life.
The original air filter box and turbo inlet hose are designed with elements that minimize the noise produced by the turbo and the air induction. Specifically, the factory intake hose features a large sound silencer to ensure the turbo operates quietly. In contrast, our intake system comes without these noise-reducing elements, allowing you to hear turbo spool and induction sound.
Key features:
- Large 85mm (3,3";) custom-designed cotton air filter with densely knitted cotton gauze. The filter is delivered without any filter oil applied therefore we recommend that the air filter is applied with cotton filter oil to increase air filtration if you drive your car in any dusty environments. You can for example use BMC Filter oil with part number "WAFLU250".
- Washable air filter for optimum performance and long service life.
- We recommend cleaning the air filter every 10.000 km, please use universal cleaning product designed for cotton air filters. You can for example use BMC Washing fluid with part number "WADET500".
- 85mm (3,3";) Aluminum inlet pipe that has the correct inner diameter for MAF-sensor. This will avoid getting CEL (Check Engine Light) which many competitor kits can give you.
- Our tests shows 0,4 second faster 100-200km/h time on a stage 2 car.
- A fully enclosed / sealed design, ensuring that only cold air is supplied to keep the IAT´s low.
