BMW's engine oil release table (SI 11 07 96, Enclosure 3, V.34 9 Mar 2023 and V.35 17 Oct 2023) releases BMW Longlife-01 for this engine WITHOUT a petrol particulate filter, worldwide, and BMW Longlife-04 / Longlife-12 FE for engines WITH a petrol particulate filter. BMW restricts Longlife-04 for petrol engines without a particulate filter to the EU, Switzerland, Norway and Liechtenstein, so we only pair Longlife-04 oils with the particulate-filter option.
