Our new Mk7/MQB Deadset takes our Deadset product line engineering to the next level. While VW/Audi took a few steps to improve the fastening of the front subframe to the chassis in the MQB, they stopped short of the proper fastening solution. Volkswagens latest subframe set up is similar to the Corrado and Mk3 subframes. While this is an improvement over the three piece subframe of the Mk5 & Mk6, the MQB subframe will eventually begin to creak and pop over time. This will also lead to less road feel and sloppy handling and alignment.
For the MQB, we have substantially beefed up the rear locating brackets, incorporated precise locating collars, and replaced all of the factory hardware with proprietary ARP fasteners. The replacement bracket is engineered to not only secure the subframe to the chassis but it also centers itself with integral locating collars. Machined from Billet 6061 T6 aluminum, it far surpasses the OEM bracket in rigidity.
Also included in the kit are four new ARP fasteners to secure the bracket to the chassis. Thats eight ARP fasteners in total.
All Tyrolsport Deadset kits are designed to not only eliminate annoying subframe popping and shifting but also rigidly mount the subframe to the chassis. This helps prevent unwanted chassis movement during aggressive driving.
